A sensible solution

After examining lots of theories and the practising methods of influencing human behaviour, I was shocked to learn the simplicity of one small fact: You will become what you think about most of the time; your success or failure in anything, large or small, will depend on your programming – what you accept from others, and what you say when you talk to yourself. It is no longer a success theory, it is a simple, but powerful fact. It makes no difference whether we believe or not. The brain simply believes what you tell it most; and what you tell it about you, it will create. The brain has no choice.

I was sceptical at first. If you combined the best of the self-help or self-improvement teachings available to us, it is clear they have given us most of the “keys to success”.

If that is true, and I believe that it is, then what is wrong?
If the principles, and in many cases even the detailed instructions, are all clearly outlined for us, why do we need more books, more solutions, and more reminders? With all this, what is missing? What would complete the puzzle and offer each of us lasting, individual success and fulfilment? There are three solutions we will explore below.

1. Continuity
All the best ideas only last a certain time. Without constant attention and effort, even the most exciting success breakthroughs run their course and eventually they end up on our list of “good ideas” and “good intentions”.

2. Knowing how the brain functions
Without knowing the actual process by which the brain accepts information (programming) can, in turn; respond, direct and controls us, It would be a challenge to create any success plan that worked indefinitely. The brain runs you. If you want to make a permanent change of any kind, you’ve got to follow the rules. If you want to change and make it stick, you have to do it the way the brain works.

3. Programming your subconscious mind
This means a specific “programming vocabulary” which is worded in a specific way that can be used every minute of the day, to erase and replace old negative programming with positive productive new directions.

Self-talk is the only solution which includes all three solutions above
Whatever means you choose to use to make these changes; unless you first begin to change your old programming, the years of conditioning that keeps you following the “old” way, means the likely outcome, is what you want to accomplish will not work – or will not last. Instead, try giving yourself the following self-talk which will give your subconscious mind a new set of directions. This will help you motivate yourself in any area of life:
  • I can do anything I believe I can do! I’ve got it and every day I get more of it. I have talent, skills and ability.
  • I set goals and I reach them. I know what I want out of life, I go after it and get it.
  • I have a lot of energy – I am alive! People around me know that I have huge energy and they want to be around me.
  • I know I can choose any direction I want to take and nobody is going to stop me as I do not listen to anything negative that comes my way, I am above all that!
  • I stand tall! I am honest and sincere. I like to deal with people and they like me. I think only positive thoughts, I think clearly. I am organised; I am in control of myself, and everything about me.
  • I never give myself excuses. I get things done and I expect the very best of what I have to give – and that’s what I get.

Try reading the above every day into the mirror for the next few days. Wouldn’t it be great to know somebody was telling you every day what a great person you are and instilling these motivating truths about you? If we had they would be our truest friend.
The truth is we do have that friend, each one of us has, right up here inside ourselves. All we have to do is ask and our friend will be there, without fail, any time, in any circumstances.

What you have to remember that this will not come easily. You may not have done this for years, or not at all, and it will take time to embed itself into your subconscious mind. After all, you are giving your old programming quite a shock! It is probably not used to hearing nonstop description of an incredible new you.
As time moves on, it will become easier. Picture yourself whilst you repeat the description of the person you say you are. By repetition your mind will accept the new instructions. Visualise a new you emerging. Remember, nobody else can do this for you, ONLY YOU can make these changes but you must put the work in first.
